1. GBM/OSU’s Report back from Gaza: 406 Days Later (Friday, Feb-26)

This week’s General Body Meeting (GBM), CJP and MSA bring you “OSU’s Report Back From Gaza: 406 Days Later.” You will be able to hear first-hand experiences about what life is like in Gaza today, over one year after the war. We will also be have a brief showing of ” To Shoot An Elephant” The most recent documentary on Gaza. Bring friends, come with questions, and get excited for an awesome event! ALL are welcome! Come and enjoy free dinner, catered by LAVASH!

2. NEW! Brothers’ Ski trip (Saturday, Feb-27)

The time is coming for our Snowboarding/Skiing trip. If you are interested in this one day trip, there is a mandatory meeting to discuss details on FRIDAY FEB 26 during the “GBM/Report back from Gaza: 406 Days Later.” We’ll be talking about the itinerary for the ski trip and when/where we’ll meet. Come join your friends and fellow MSA-ers as we eat food brought from of diverse MSA members! Love to cook? Want to try something new and want feedback? This your chance! PRIZES will be awarded to Best Main Dish, Most Appealing, Best Dessert, Most creative, and Most authentic!

4. Sisters’ Circle (Mondays)
We meet every Monday and on alternating weeks, we will have a halaqa one week and a social event the week after.

Upcoming Week: Take a break and relieve some stress! Join us in making bookmarks and other crafts! Bring your favorite Hadith or Quran Ayats and design them on to your crafts. We may be looking into doing this as a fundraiser to benefit those less fortunate than us. Come and join us and look for more details with the Sisters circle email.

5. Brothers’ Night (Wednesdays)

Learn Islam and discuss important topics with other brothers on campus. Converted to Islam? Born into Islam? By birth or by choice, we’re Muslim. Let’s get together. Come to hang out, get to know each other, and for some snacks and games. Classroom 5024 is tucked away in a corner of the fifth floor in Smith Laboratory. Every Wednesday night at 7:30 - c’mon, don’t be shy brotha’!

7. MSA Tajweed Class (Mondays)*
Tajwīd (تجويد) is an Arabic word meaning proper pronunciation during recitation (literally meaning to make better). The Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) has said, ‘Indeed Allah desires that the Qur’an be recited in the manner it was revealed.’ Please, come prepared with a Quran (preferably, a non-translated, non-tajweed version i.e. without color coding) and a notebook!
